Rob Lawrie is one of those British to whom the images of summer 2015 caused an awareness. He came to Calais and has given his energy tirelessly. And then one day he hid a four year old child in his van to make it across the border and help her to rejoin her family in the UK. He had been sued, and his trial had a strong media coverage. The court had issued one of those crab judgments that avoid difficult issues, and had relaxed Rob Lawrie for the charge of smuggling to sentence him to a fine for transporting the child in conditions that contravened of safety rules accordance with the code of the road.

Today, Rob Lawrie has not given up, and he takes advantage of his image to mobilize again for the children of the shantytown. He left Leeds to reach Calais by bike and collect donations.
