Migrants in Calais and at the borders

After a paradoxical media silence in recent months, the beginning of the school year put Calais again under the spotlight. It preludes to the campaign of presidential and legislative elections, in which the situation at the British border seems to be an issue. We used that political decisions are already usually very determined by the media issues. During the coming months, the fate of people in migration will depend even more on discrepancies in the polls and speculation about image effects. It is in these terms in particular that the question arises of the destruction of the northern part of Calais shantytown.
