Over thirty organizations and groups have called for a demonstration in support of the Exiles tomorrow in the context of the threat destruction of the shantytown and the forced displacement of the population.

Unlike the blocking of the highway on 5th September which demanded the destruction of the slum, and which was authorized (the Interior minister had come to meet the organizers a few days before), the solidarity demonstration on the 1st October is the subject of a prefectural ban taken out because of the risk of disturbince to public order under the state of emergency.

An appeal against this banning order was brought before the administrative court. The hearing will take place this afternoon at 16h at the Lille administrative tribunal. The organizers of the event will give a press conference this afternoon at 15h at the Bourse du travail in Paris, 3 rue du Château d’eau.

The call to protest is upheld until the decision of the administrative court
